Advice - Remington® 870™ Express® Tactical 3'' 12-Gauge Pump Shotgun w/ Ghost Ring Si

I have the 870 Tactical XS Ghost Ring Magpul version with the Cerakote finish, paid $750 a little over a year ago.

In hot summer conditions I was having short brass(Clever Super Target) get stuck in the chamber so I added a Volquartzen extractor, polished the chamber with 0000 and 000 steel wool and it is perfect now. Bolted on a 6 round Mesa Tactical side saddle for quick combat loads. These need some use to loosen up the action a bit but now mine is pretty smooth.

Are you guys putting slings or tactical light on this ,if so share pic and what brands .
Just upgraded mine with magpul stock and forehand ,looking into single point sling attachment for magpul sga stock ,for this one .
Can I get sling / light which will be interchangeable with my smith and Wesson sports 2 and Remington 870 Tactical .
BTW my ar has hand guards with picatinny.

You can use a regular, quality flashlight (Streamlight or Surefire) and switch it between the firearms in question. Just use two, different mounts.

Put a rail section on the Magul forend and a mount on a decent light and it'll do fine - even a pistol light of decent quality will work just fine. I have an M3 light on my 12 1/2 shotgun, and I'll probably use the same on my 14. I'm not a fan of single point slings on longish guns, you might find that in positional shooting, or transitions, you're burying the muzzle which is best avoided. I prefer an adjustable 2 point sling like the Vickers, it holds the gun at an angle across your front, muzzle down and can be swung around back with little effort. The same sling is what I'd suggest for your AR, and with a couple of cheap QD attachments it can move from one to the other.

Tx for suggestions
Looking at Magpul MS3 Gen 2 ,think it will work both as two points and single ,on both guns ,is almost same price as Vickers.
M3 could be used on handguns as well as long guns ,does it have strobe ..?

I went with some Magpul hardware to mount a light and sling on my 870 XTac, the sling is compatible with my AR-15 too.

Here's the hardware list:
Magpul MAG437 Cantilerver MOE rail, https://www.magpul.com/products/moe-cantilever-rail
Magpul MAG498 Rail Light Mount, https://www.magpul.com/products/rail-light-mount-left-or-right
Magpul MAG513 MS1 Sling, https://www.magpul.com/products/ms1-sling
Magpul MAG333 Type 1 Sling Mount, https://www.magpul.com/products/sling-mount-kit-type-1
Magpul MAG543 QDM, https://www.magpul.com/products/qdm

I have since replaced the flashlight with a smaller Thrunite TN12 2016, 1100 Lumens. The first flashlight died on recoil but the Thrunite is holding up really well.

I am going to pick up the MOE M-LOK MAG587 Cantilever rail for my Magpul SL hand guard on my AR-15 carbine, and yes it is a S&W Sport II.;) So I can mount the same light on it if desired. And just to add, I also replaced the grip with a Magpul MOE K2+, huge difference in handling angle and size, the A2 grip on the AR is too tiny for my hands and the angle was uncomfortable for CQB.

And NO, I don't work for Magpul LOL!

Tx Wester for the list. Any reasonable place to buy Magpul stuff off .?

No one particular vendor, my local supply is non-existent. Recent purchases have been with True North Arms, lots of Magpul stuff. Due to shipping costs I try to find a vendor that I can buy all I need at once but that has proven to be a challenge. Canada Ammo and GP Tactical seem to have lots but supply is spotty for some items. Some offer free shipping for $200 orders others have flat rate, it depends on your need and desire.

Naive question here ,when the weapon is empty ,you press the action release to rack the pump back ,and then when you rack it back to close position ,do you still keep the action release pressed in ...? Have tried looking at YouTube but was not clear ,when they are racking empty gun back and front several times ,couldn’t figure it out ..?

After the last round is fired the action is released when the trigger is pulled or if you rack it with an empty mag tube you can dry fire or use the slide release to unlock the action, once the slide is all the way back and the action is open you just rack it forward and it locks into battery. If you want to cycle the action a couple times in a row just hold down the slide release and cycle the action back and foreth.
