Advice - Should I keep my .308 ?

Four, IV, 1111, catre, quarto, five less one..............not ten..............four.................:sok2

Dang it, now eye gartzs to go find'em and count'em agin....................:runaway:

Every time I consider taking one of my x39's out deer hunting I opt out for the 308 instead. It will do everything the x39's will do at a lot more. I shot a coastal black tail 2 days ago that was pretty handy to 300yds...a no go for the x39 but a piece of cake for .308.

Thats exactly why I bought it, just in case, but here in NW Ont I have never shot anything past 80 yards, ever.

Keep what you like and use and purge what you will never use. If you like your .308 and think you may use it then keep it and decide to get rid of it later unless you need the cash for something you will use.
I have to admit I hate the sks! When I come across a guy in the bush with one or at the range all I can do is roll my eyes. Ugly remnants cheaper than dirt BUT if you like it don't let a snob like me tell you what do do lol.

Of course, if the OP figures the .308 a tad on the average fer his taste, then he can sell it and upgrade to the .338 Win Mag. version. Nice option for handloading.:)

A Savage carbine chambered for the .338 Winchester, or a .375 Ruger might not be the last rifle I'd ever consider, but its on the list . . . okay, I'd have one before I had an SKS.

I bet the road more heavily traveled is used by .308 shooters.
Me too ...

I'd have an SKS for zombies and the 308 for real life stuff. The Savage Carbine would get a pass, esp in the above mentioned chamberings.

...There are lots of guns "everyone" will say you should own. 1911, Glock, Tavor, Enfield, SKS, AR, 870...

My "should own" list would look significantly different than that - something along the lines of commercial Mauser sporter, falling block single shot, tuned Ruger single action (you pick the flavour), good quality double 12 or 20 (or a really nice continental 16 ga) - that sort of thing...
