Hey guys
just picked up a Optima MP Tactical Pump 12 guage and want to install a flashlight and sling...
for those who have this firearm or know of it any input would be great
the flash light I would like to be a rechargable if possible.
and any other mods you may have done to yours also
thanks.
Glenn.

I would run a Surefire P2XABK Fury Tactical (500 lumens) or a Surefire P3XABK Fury Tactical (1000 lumens). You can get rechargeable CR123 batteries, only drawback to using them is your runtimes will be roughly halved.

Either light will give you a solid light able to withstand the shock and vibration during firing and will be able to provide a good ability to identify and engage a target out to an average effective range of the shotgun (50-100m) without any difficulty.

4tick to cr123A batteries. They work in coldweather, and don't get noticably dinner over time. They work perfectly until they die. There is a reason surefire et al use CR123Asm.

Also look for one that has two light levels. Ilumination and blinding flashlight of gawd.

I disagree on getting a light with two levels. Flashlights that have multiple intensity settings usually require you to cycle through the lower power settings to get to the high setting. With a weapon mounted light you do not want to be cycling through various settings to get to what you want. You want max lumens now with one push or click on either the tail cap or switch. That’s why all the Surefire Fury Tactical models, for example, have only one setting, max lumens nothing else.

A multiple setting light is useful for a belt light but not for a weapon mounted one.

I've got a Fenix Tactical TK-15 and it has multiple brightness settings as well as a strobe. It remembers which brightness setting was last used. Power button is also on the tail cap.

I mounted a sun optics (i know i know but it was on sale LOL) laser/light combo. the light isnt worth sh!t but the lazer works very well. when Im night shooting I take off my angled fore grip and throw on my rigid industries halo on the lower pict rail. the RI light is rechargeable. house or car and I have a spare batt always charged. just like any RI product its instant daylight.

as for the sling I drilled out the loop swivel so I could mount my paracord sling. I had to build the thickness back up with a spot of weld. guess I could have bought a replacment but hey the part was there I just had to mod it.

As suggested pick up a Surefire light. The best and most dependable out there. Lifetime warranty and awesome customer service. I have one of their forends on my Mossberg 590A1 and a 6PX Pro for my job. Made in the USA on top of everything else.

thanks guys for all the info..
I'm going to keep my eye out on the prices for the surefires and maybe pick one up...will do more reading up .
had a surefire years ago on my duty belt and loved it $140 though back in the late 90's and rechargeable but great light.
as for the sling still looking , I have a single point sling for my 10/22 with a bungie and like it but not sure what direction to go with this one.

This. Buy once, cry once. If you can snag an older model that accepts the P60 sized bulbs, you can swap them out for LED engines instead, and don't get stuck in a few years with an older gen sealed unit that you can't upgrade. Check Malkoff Devices for the aftermarket LEDs.
