I'm thinking about picking up Challenger 12 GA Target Slugs. My Stoeger M3000 acts finicky with shells with less than 3 drum loads (28 grams). I went on Chalenger's website but I couldn't find any info on actual powder load. The box itself shows no information either. Any help will be appreciated.

Buy it.
If your shotgun doesnt like it who cares? With the price of ammo going up you can sell the remainder for a few dollars profit in a years time.

Slugs are for hunting. Target shooting with the 1-1/8 oz 1600 fps Challenger’s would be painful and expensive, at least the way they kick me in a light SxS “bear gun”.

Just based on the physics I'll guess that they won't cycle reliably. I think the slugs you're talking about list a 1oz projectile at 1450fps, and look like they are "low brass". If you need high brass shotshell loads to cycle, it is not looking good.

But there's only one way to know for sure.

I believe those Challengers are 1oz slugs but Stoeger's manual recommends no less than 3 drum loads (minimum 1oz projectile) ....I learned this the hard way on my last visit to the range while shooting with low-recoil Score slugs. Some shells were not ejected properly, had to extract them manually.
