Affixing a bit of brass to front sight

Hey all,
I'm setting up my cz457 for a silhouette shooting competition at my local club.
I've purchased a Williams peep sight for it.

I'm not sure if the front sight will be high enough. I've adjusted it all the way up. I will find out at the range in a day or two.
Another problem is the front sight is black, the same color as the targets.
Luckily I have some brass rod laying around. This will give it some contrast and bring it up another 16th.

I'm thinking cut the brass at an angle and super glue it to the front sight as pictured below. Any other ideas for permanently affixing the sight?

Ideally I'd have a globe front sight but they dont seem to be easily available for the 457.

If you’re not trying to get any added height out of the front sight, you might consider hiviz nail polish to paint the tip of the sight.

The dollar store is where I buy it, use a bit of white first and then your choice of green, yellow or red. It’s really bright, I’ve done it on a few rifles and shotguns over the years.

OP - if you want to glue on that strip - make sure whatever glue that you chose will stick to both surfaces. I discovered that some glues will not stick to some plastics and to some paints - otherwise, I wish you good luck to lay that thing on top, and glue it there. Be careful what will stick with "SuperGlue" - many things will, including your fingers, but some stuff does not stick, or does not stay stuck, well.

Good idea with the rod, a bit of clear nail polish might be enough to stick it
If the brass isn't high enough the ramp could be built up with a dab of JBWeld, filed and painted to taste after testing
imo the rod running up the ramp like you photo'ed is a nice accent

another option for a sight is the tiny fiber optic rod available on amazon

boxhitch's right about the JB-weld. I have it on a broken f-sight that has been there for all of last summer. I just filed it w-flat sides and a small tip, then painted it w-Bright yellow paint.
I'm thinking of putting fiber-op on there, using a dab of JB or dollar-store Epoxy. Time will tell . . . DSCN9386.JPG

And I've got some of the fibre-op from amazon, only a $12-bucks for a 50-cm long section. I plan to try JB to adhere it on that sight this Spring, as well as on SKS - - if I can still use that in the coming BS days.

+1 for white or hi vis nail polish/paint. Take it from a guy with bad near vision. The peep sight helps a lot, but I can't focus my eye on a black or brass front sight. Painted a couple lever gun sights in white now and it made a world of difference. Fibre optic fronts are good too.

Easy to clean off too if you don't like it.

I painted my Iron sights on my SKS, then hi-lited the rear with Yellow. Makes a good contrast to most targets. The F-pin is visible 'in reality', just not in the 2nd pic.

Here is a solution for mounting a globe sight.

They make threaded adapters. It would also give you a bit more sight length.

Tech Sights for the 455 will fit the 457.
