Hey guys,

Just thought I would see if anyone knows of any affordable spotting scopes with milradian reticules in them? They also need to be decently made, not just a cheap PoS... price range I'm looking for is between $200-400, would be nice to be able to get a $2,000 one, but probably not logical with all the other things I need currently.

Thanks,

When the mirage is running hard at 1000 yards those little lines aren't much good.

Between $200-400. some eye pieces cost that much on a good quality spotting scope.

My advice it to wait until you get to the big range (Borden) and see what everybody else is using. Have a peek through as many as you can then decide.

I'm thinking about the Bushnell Excursion myself.

Not too many spotting scopes even have mildots, only Leupold and US optics come to mind and they're both just over a grand I believe. The excursion has gotten decent reviews when compared to the much pricier Leupold and is the only option with mildots in your price range (about $400 US) that I'm aware of.

While high quality optics are nice, not everyone can afford them and you have to start somewhere. If I waited until I could afford Zeiss or Swarovski then I'd never end up buying one.

Looks respectable. Really wish it had an angled viewing port though but I guess that is the price you pay for "cheap". Ugh considering to pay $1000+ for a spotting scope is a hard decision for me though, I can think of so many other better things to burn the money on :)

Any come to mind with MOA reticule?

I'm not sure that anyone has a reticle based off MOA.

I too wish they were availabe with an angled eyepiece but I do believe that they were simply trying to copy the Leupold model which is in use with some US units I believe. Straight eyepieces are preferred for military use because it's the spotter looking through the optic, not the shooter.
