Affordable "tactical" light for m305?

Hello,
I'm in the market for a couple of flashlights (preferably 2 AA), and realized that maybe said light(s) could serve double-duty if I ever felt I like tacking them on my m305 (maybe 12ga later on). So I was wondering what cheap ($50 and under) "tactical" lights can withstand m305 and 12 guage recoil. I was even thinking about something even as simple as the mag xl200 or coast PX25 I saw at Home Depot the other day. I must be blind or simple, because I can't find any ratings for recoil on manufacturers' sites.

Also, is there any real reason why zipties can't be used to afix lights? I hate the tacticool look and don't have cash to be throwing around for a mount I'll seldom use.

Thanks

You can use duct tape to affix almost anything, Myth Busters have proven that, it just may not last all that long, I dont know about the zipties they might work but you would probably have to use 4 or 5 just to try n secure it, tho recoil/ muzzle blast may pop the flashlight right now, but you never know until you try, so I say go ahead and experiment. 1 last thing to consider is heat, the barrels will heat up after a few rounds and that might lead to the tape and zipties melting to the barrels and then you would have to clean up all that melted gunk, doesnt really seem to worth it. Your best bet would be to get a proper mount, nothin fancy just simple and I dont think I have ever seen a flash light on an M14, it just wouldnt look right at all. but a shotgun hell ya that would fine.

Alright. But I still am clueless as to what is recoil-proof; what lights are suitable for this kind of recoil? I ideally want to buy the lights locally, as opposed to ordering them in.

Get a good headlamp.
Multi use, easy to attach to your head and when mounted on your head it has built in suspension and recoil management!

as far as "recoil proof" lights well Can-down is right a head lamp wouldnt get any recoil. but if you do indeed want to attach it to the barrel, maybe try a mag light they are made of metal and are pretty durable or just look up a tactical gun parts website and see what kinds they are offering

I'd also suggest good electrical tape instead of duct.... If you go that route.
But seriously headlamp is the way to go here... They are cheap these days so you can buy a few and leave them in different places including with your gun.

Fenix PD20's .. they dont take AA, instead they are powered by CR123 Li batteries.. excellent flashlights, good batteries, they are rechargable and readily available as well. the light will mount in a 1" scope ring if need be.

Disclaimer: Im not affiliated with Fenix Flashlights, the name is a coincidence. It is also a coincidence that both the lights, and myself, rule. Hard.

"..."tactical" light..." Of all the silly marketing terms that has to be the most stupid. Screams, "Shoot here!!!"
"...attach to your head..." Nice aiming point too.

You funny sunshine.... :)
I've been using headlamps for years and I've never been hit by enemy fire I must be very lucky!

I always wondered that, wouldn't a flashlight make it easier to be shot at in a situation from afar?

Wonder no more.
Snipers and soldiers in general try to avoid being seen and prefer night vision to bright headlamps.

Somehow I thought the OP was looking for a light to identify wildlife threats at night in the bush or something along those lines... But maybe he's got other missions in mind? Never good to make assumptions I guess...
