Last summer while on tour I got to help out with C7 conversion training with the ANA. I have some pics of the C7's that they were issued.

I have blocked out the rack and serial numbers, but you will get the idea how they are marked. The rack numbers are marked on the butt with a paint pen.

In the pic below you will notice how they scratched out the Canadian markings and added a ANA serial number on both the upper and lower recievers.

All the ANA C7's that I seen were fitted with short fixed stocks marked with a big "C" with a little "s" in the "C". They probably did this due to the smaller stature of most Afghanis.

Some UFI for ya

my friend ...this may be "protected information". Thank you this is very interesting stuff, although be careful not to cause yourself trouble.

Mod's and CF members please advise if this is touching on OPSEC.
I can't see this being protected due to the fact that I'm not giving any info on any on going operations. It is no secret that Canada gave Afghanistan C7 rifles. I did not reveal any faces, names, dates, and I blocked out serial numbers so it could not be traced to the ANA soldier it was issued to. Thanks drslav for the heads up.

I suppose it's more personal than operational scty. Don't assume you know your audience, that your info will be respected, or that everyone here is on your side.

Just saying, people now know quite a bit about you, where you've been, and what you've done, and could probably make an educated guess as to the timeframe, couldn't they?

Healthy paranoia, my friend...maintain healthy paranoia.

Thanks for posting this tidbit of information. That's wonderful of you to share. Now about OpSec, I don't think  that you have crossed any lines....:nest:

I appreciate the spread of knowledge

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: Did you bring back this Taliban fella with you?

This was all over the news so I don't see any opsec or persec issue. Everyone who read newspaper knows that we gave away a boatload of rifles.
