As the title says: I was at the range today and finally shot my 190.:dancingbanana: Once I got it sighted in I had all 10 shots in the black freehand on a standard 20 yd small bore target at 20 - 25 yds. I was stuffing this rifle with some CCI hollow points (mini mag), not even decent match stuff! On the rest it was shooting one ragged hole. This may not sound like much to some but I haven't shot this sport since I was a kid & thats what compelled me to buy this rifle a couple of years ago when I saw it on the rack. Now in my late thirties, I kinda felt like I was twelve again at the local YMCA shooting range (in the basement) down in Sarnia. Parents use to drive me into town on Tuesday nights to shoot peep sighted single shot Cooey's. Later when I got to highschool I would occasionally shoot at its indoor range with similiar rifles that the highschool owned!
Anyway getting back to this rifle, it has almost been a goner on more than one gun deal , but for one reason or another remained in the back of safe until today. Needless to say I was very impressed & will be taking this one out more often. By the way, I know these rifles were brought in by CIL, but mine has no such markings, only a maple leaf under the grip. Anyone know the story on this?

Wife's from Sarnia & I went to St. Pats. I lived in the Grove & went to St. Clair. As soon as highschool was done I was headed to Thunder Bay and did a couple of years of College. Wife went to U.W.O. after high school. Funny we had mutual friends but never met until we were in our twenties. Went to a lot of good Northern house parties when I did live there thou!!!:D

Will do! I had forgotten how much fun a single shot 22 with peep sights could be.

What the heck took you so long - 2 years? I'd have taken 2 minutes!

I agree I'm bad. But as I recollect this rifle was an impulse buy. I had a flashback to my younger days. Now I'm glad I didn't get rid of & just bought some CCI Greentag & Elley to put through it to see what it likes better. I think with the price of lead it may get more use this summer.

You'll be pleased to know that John Carter, a Canuck, shot a 486, prone, 20m (I think it was meters) 60 rd group, in late 2006 with an Anschutz/CIL 190 and Federal Champion LR's - think it was down in New York if memory serves. Open sights me thinks. Pretty fair plinking - tells you what you need to know about your .22! Now get your b*** out there!
