I came across several posts with regards to high capacity mags for Ruger 10/22. It mentioned using other manufactured mags with a sleeve for the 10/22 and it will work. Anyone out there tried this? Reliable? Which mag with what sleeve?

Spectre adapter, 597 mags.

I bought two and 4 mags to go with them and neither of them worked. After lots of emails and performing every adjustment and mag break in procedure in the book both are still inoperable. I haven't had any luck getting a return authorization from SBI. Seems there's always an excuse. YMMV

I have one and it works 100% with mini mags. less reliably with bulk ammo.

597 mags arent reliable to begin with .....

if you are correct

then is was very stupid for them to start this project to begin with

the 25 round mags worked from the usa manufacture, they should have done something like dlask with a new system to work with the 10/22 technology

GUYS JUST WANT THE DARN THING TO WORK EACH AND EVERY TIME WITH REASONABLE AMMO, NOT cheap stuff

nobody buys the product when it does not work as advertised

most people probably rather get a mag adapter than a new receiver.

If you are risk averse and the fact that this $34 purchase may not work perfectly is a concern to you, then 10 rd factory mags are a better option.

not only do I want something to work it is a 300 dollar purchase

An adapter and 7 mags. Then sell it all and lie to the purchaser saying oh it works and then

STARTING OVER AFTER WASTING 3 MONTHS AND 20 HOURS what a joke

The old so called banned 25 round mags worked and worked well

Too much to,ask I guess

Yeah well they are banned now ...

Remington 597 mags never were as good as 10/22 mags. Add an adapter to the mix is not a recipe for 100% reliability....

The option are 10 round mags that do work.
