After market mags for SR9?

none aftermarket that I can find.

The Ruger ones are fine, but they are sometimes hard to find, and they are not cheap. No, they are not priced with the high end ones but they are not cheap either.

The only other commonly available decent mags that are cheaper are some 1911 mags....like the ACT-MAG that is under $20. Ruger OEM mags at $35 are cheaper then any other OEM mag from Glock, Beretta, S&W, Walther, CZ, Tanfoglio, etc...pretty much any other pistol.
Sure the other guys have ####ty cheaper after market mags like Promag, kci, check mate etc..but I would avoid those anyway. Even MecGar run $35 for most of those guys which is about as cheap as I would go for after market.
Brownells has SR9 mags in stock for $35

Once upon a time I saw an SR9 for sale with pinned mags on here. These are much nicer than the standard ones with the big plastic block at the bottom. The owner was not too forthcoming as to what store he bought the pistol from.

The original mags are fine. The full length metal just seems more solid.

We've got piles of SR9 and SR40 mags in stock.

They are the ones with the plastic base though.

payed $42 for my extra ones.

But you're not going to tell us where you got 'em, are you:evil: If they're not a restricted item from the US (and I've heard of some folks successfully ordering mags, although not for the SR9 specifically) Brownells has them for $35.00. For those of us near the border or with a US address, it's a no-brainer.
