SO after weeks of being confused and asking you guys stupid questions, I finally got a POSP 2-6x24 scope on my 858 (thanks to Teapot2 my Russian comrade). I know you like pics so here goes, let me know what you guys think of my new toy! :

Thanks will do, it looks more complicated than your standard units but I will take some time next week to do that.

Looks great, and I am sure it will shoot the same. Let us know how it is to dial in the scope. I am looking forward to a review.

Enjoy your setup.

P.S. Ty kupil dlja svoei optici u russkogo parnja i tebe sovetoval tozhe ne kanadec, no... Ladno zabudem, horowie vewi zabivjutsja bistro. Ja to ne pri chem, za druzei obidno. No ladno, naslazdaisja. Udachi

Very nice. Decent optic as well. I just can't get used to putting batteries in a scope, so that I can see the reticle. Still a decent milspec scope though.

Thanks Claven. I bought a Russian style "Aimpoint" several years ago. It's massive, compared to its western counterparts but was very efficient none the less. Its main problem is a voracious appetite for impossible to find batteries. The Multi V reticle is invisible without power.

I will have to look into one of those to mount on an SKS. My eyesight is failing as I get older and I just can't make out the sights, even with corrective lenses.

The POSP would match the Russian SKS quite well. It is either that or a Bushnell holosight.

Batteries are $3.99 including shipping for 50 from ebay. Not impossible to find at all. I think to get a scope of this quality from Bushnell or anyone else you're looking at $500-700
