Is there such a thing as an aftermarket Cooey 60 stock?

I'm really jealous of all the .22s I see wearing Boyds stocks. I would really like to get something like this for my old Cooey 60.

I know I could just save myself some trouble and get a simple Savage bolt action and buy that exact stock for it, but I really love my old Cooey. It shoots as straight as light.

If there are no aftermarket stocks available does anyone have a "build your own gun stock" link they can give me? I would be willing to start from scratch and try to hand carve one. This is my "project" gun anyways so I don't mind messing around with it.

No one makes stocks for cooeys unfortunately. However boyds and richards micro fit both sell uninletted stocks that you could just inlet to fit. (I say that as if its easy.....it's not.)

The uninletted stock from Boyds sounds like the best solution, however the inletting is actually the hardest part! Carving the overall shape of the stock wouldn't be too difficult, but getting a good receiver fit, supporting the barrel and clearing the action is going to be a real challenge.

I would be much more comfortable hacking away at a piece of scrap 2x4 where if I screw up I can start over again. I would *really* hate to mess up a $100 unfinished stock with careless dremeling.

I think I will end up trying to do a custom stock, and if I decide I'm really good at inletting the space for the action then I may consider ordering an unfinished boyds stock. I do really love that colored plywood look.
