If someone was interested in getting a longer barrel, different piston, cylinder etc for a 1322, what would be a good place to start looking?

Good start, different size/strength valves and pistons are available, trigger kits and different strength hammer springs are useful as well.

I dont know how similar a 1322 is to a 2240 but I just got an extended hollow probe for my 2240 and a lefthand steel breech from Canada shooting supply and I believe that hollow probe has really helped accuracy consistency. Especially if your not using Crosman pellets, it loads them into the breech evenly. The two parts came together as a kit with grub screws and allen wrenchs.

Flat top piston adjust to just under 500fps.I have a 2289 14" barrel ,steel breach,FT piston,American valve and shoulder stock.

be aware that a modded airgun can be a hot potato.
for a factory one, the lab takes the manufacturer's velocity as is is written
rumor on the airgun forums say a modded one could be tested with light pellets and found to be over 500fps
food for thought

I have a 2289 as well (the Backpacker)
I have had it rebuilt and it is shooting the 14.3grain pellets just under 500 fps
Paid the price for this long discontinued item because here in BC one can't hunt with a pistol; the Backpacker is officially a rifle while being nothing more than a 1322 with a shoulder stock and a 14" barrel
But it says "rifle" on the box.

I guess it would all depend on how many times you pumped it. If that is the case, the RCMP could make any pumper illegal if they chose to use light pellets.

we all know how the firearms laws work in Canada
the rcmp labs say they rely on the manufacturer's posted velocity for unmodified airguns. Said velocities don't specify the pellet weight but they do specify the number of pumps.

I wanted to ask them what happens if a 1322 goes over 500fps. Does it need to be registered? But I gave up after waiting 90min on the phone.

Kdx..by chance can you post some pics ..this is a very cool project

Edited due to being paranoid about giving the antis ammo.
