Slides and barrels require an export permit, under the definition of major component per US Gov - you can still get them but you need to have an importer bring them in for you (the easy, risk free way) or do it yourself (results depends on how good you are with USG BS - consequences of screwing up can be serious)

I was trying to import an Advantage Arms .22LR conversion kit for a Glock 19. Irunguns and Wolverine said they couldn't do it.
Borderview (an export company based in Washington state) said they could do it, but I would have to buy the kit and threaded barrel myself (threaded barrel makes the kit legal length in Canada).
