I now this has been posted previously, but I cant find it.

Does the Swede mag fit the Egyptian or is it the other way around?

Are there any mods or fitting required or does the mag pop straight in?

What would I expect to pay for a mag?

The Ljungmann magazines should fit into the Hakim OK, and vice versa, but the Hakim feed lips would require modification to give reliable 100% feeding in an AG42B.

Or you could purchase modified MG13 magazines (pinned to 5 of course)...

Thanks Desert Fox.

where would one acquire the MG13 mags. ...and would they be cheaper?

MG13 mags sometimes come up for sale in Canada, but are mostly found in the US. IMA, Numrich and other used to sell them, but you'd have to figure out how to pin them before getting them imported. You'll sometimes see them on Ebay, as with anything Milsurp-y (Milsurupy?) cost can vary widely, ($40-$200?)....

Sometimes it's easier to just buy another rifle with a magazine already in it... probably not cheaper, but easier...

Expect Hakim or Ljungmann mags to cost around $100-$150....

Here is an old article copy of how to convert an MG13 mag to work in a Hakim: http://www.reocities.com/Yosemite/Gorge/4653/hakim3.htm

Here is a great thread with pics of how to convert one too: http://www.surplusrifleforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=130&t=216
