Age?

I would appreciate if someone could help me date this rifle. I picked up a Winchester model 1906 pump 22 takedown at the last Kamloops gun show in April and was wondering how old it actually is. SN is 735###. Nice little rifle and it sure is a hit when I take her out to the range. Everybody wants to shoot her and the old girl shoots like a house on fire. Delightful little rifle and by far the most fun 22 I have.

They stopped making that model in 1935 but used parts to manufacture guns until 1937. Your serial number would indicate a parts assembled gun between '35 and '37.

Missing, do you have a link for this, or were you reading it out of a book? That would be a handy reference to have.

the polishing room record books show the last number recorded as 685999 dom 1926. Many were assembled during later years but no records exist pinpointing years of manuf.
