Aguila .22LR Ammunition

"...not on the list..." Aguila has been sold in Canada for eons. Made in Mexico by/for Remington, at one time.
I wouldn't get too worried if you can't find it though. Try as many other brands as you can to find the ammo your firearm shoots best. The cost of said ammo means nothing either.

Thanks guys, I wont loose more time trying to find them lol!

Just wanted to get some quiet .22 ammo, I guess I'll get CCI CB Longs, I heard good things about them for pest control (backyard without disturbing neighbors)

You sure they are CB caps? I don't think anyone makes caps anymore. Just long and shorts

Sunray- I think your thinking about Eley ammo not aguila

There definitely is Aguila and lots of it in the US, and it used to be sold in Canada. Pretty sure we have some old boxes of it kicking around.

As for CB caps, they are manufactured by many companies, including CCI and Remington, and widely available now, both in long and short, about $8 per hundred.

CB caps are different than CB long and CB short.

CB cap is the highlighted one

You are right, my mistake.

I also used to have BB caps, identical to your CB but with a round lead ball instead of the pointed one you show. They came in a little round tin of 100, similar to the tins that 177 pellets come in.

The Aguila colibri is actually a CB cap in a 22 short case. It has a 20 grain pointed bullet instead of the 29 grain.

EDIT:

Found this link. Mine look exactly like this, right down to the acorn headstamp, but the tin had a different label.

Fed and Rem make CB longs.Rem in HP....................I burned up several cases [5000 rds]of Aguila .22 ammo in the gopher patch in the 80's from Woolco and it was good ammo.............Harold

My understanding is that whatever Aguilla ammo you can find on this side of the border, either has been here for decades, or was "creatively imported" ....

I mixed a few of these in my clip with regular ammo and I laughed on how quiet they are. The only noise you hear is the pin hitting the bullet.

"...backyard without disturbing neighbors..." In a city/town? A CB is still discharging a firearm.
"...thinking about Eley ammo not Aguila..." Sold lots of it in the store I worked in, long ago. Aguila was owned by Remington in those days. Eley is/was English.

I was looking for the "Super Colibri" but have settled with the CCI CB shorts. I am more than happy with the CB Shorts & they are SUPER quiet they sound like a pen dropping.

Right now the only advantage the Aquila ammo might offer is the "caps" and they might not feed properly in some guns. I dont know of a CCI cap here is Canada. At least I have not seen any in the Calgary area...........

Since in all these rounds there is only the primer; realistically, cap, short, long your decision should be made on feed issues & # of increased rounds in the gun due to shorter rounds..... the case has no powder charge.... its wasted space.

I have an OLD Marlin 1897 from 1901 and it runs with the CB short & long but I can get more CB shorts into the tube mag...... If I could locate BB/CB caps and they would feed correctly then I'd switch to that and shoot 2x longer before a reload....
