Hi folks. I regularly follow your Forum, and I seldom post, if anything.
I'm writing you from Italy.
We share the same interest about "some chi-com firearms", and you are the best resource on the internets. Great job.

I've read sometime in the past, that an Italian factory was due to deliver some M14 clones onto the Canadian market via Marstar...
Guess what? I'm Italian, and I've never heard anything about it!

Anyone can give me any details about it?

Gladio:

In my family we have an expression for something that is painful, ugly and best left unspoken. It goes, 'don't pick at that scab'. In other words, an injury has healed up and it doesn't help to make the pain come back.

So, no we are waiting for delivery of Italian made M14 rifles. There has been a lot of excitement and interest, but we seem to be continually disappointed when anyone asks for proof.

Marstar is in the gun business. They have done great things finding new and interesting products. They are also doing a good job of using social media to create interest in their company. But don't rely on promised delivery dates until the order is in your hands.

Hey you wouldn't happen to be from Veneto?
Cuz there is a guy from there called Andy who get's us M1 grand rear sight's but ever since he went threw that nasty devorice we have yet to hear from him.
P.S. Welcome to the M14 addiction! ;)

Andy is alive and welll ...
but he doesn't have much Garand stuff left.

Andy is thinking about getting a Norc M14 for himself,
and perhaps we will be seeing him here soon on CGN as a member.

I THINK I dealt with him some time ago for my Garand,
but I don't recall him going by the name of Andy, or Andrea.
thanks for the welcome!
I'm on the edge about Nork M14s, I've seen one in person a few days ago,
and the finish really let me off.. I know, don't judge a book by its cover,
but..

My memory tells me that the promise of Italian M14s emerged when it was believed that the supply of Chinese M14s was on the verge of permanent exhaustion. It made sense, as there is an appetite for M14s in Canada, and people would have been willing to pay $800 for them if they had no other option.

But it turns out that China was actually willing to tool up and run some new M14s for us, for not much more money than we were paying before. It is my suspicion that the idea of $800 Italian M14s died the instant those new $425 Chinese M14s were announced to the market.
