If at all possible I certainly like to get the client to come in so I can fit the stock for length of pull, palm swell dimensions and trigger finger reach as well as cant and spotweld. All of these are important for optimum rifle fit, hence accuracy. The best parts and assembly can be totally defeated if the rifle does not fit the shooter. This can be overcome to a certain degree with adjustable stock parts, but every client I have ever built a stock for custom to their physical dimension has told me their shooting ability improved dramatically, and the comfort of shooting was enhanced.
Also being custom gives a person the ability to "personalize" his rifle , and lets be honest here, there is something to be said for better bragging rights, to own anything that is a true 1 of is something special to many
