Just a heads up for those not wanting to pay the big bucks for AI mags, the metal Ruger Scout Rifle mags work flawlessly in my Rem 700 in a AICS chassis. Polymer scout mags however.....not so much. The metal Ruger mags are half the money of AI ones.

.

I also found the metal Ruger 10-rd mags compare favourably with the AICS 10-rd .308 Win mags for function. I'm using the CDI Precision DBM conversion for the Savage.

The availability of the Ruger units in Canada seemed to be better than the AICS too, double bonus.

When shopping, the metal .308 10rd Ruger version is their SKU 90353.

Wolverine among others carries them in Canada.

Ruger Scout mags are made by Accurate Mag. Very good mags!

Savage also uses their mags, if you're looking for 3.850" 300 WM or 338 Lapua mags (CIP length).

K, you ran in to the same situation I did then. I have a savage model 10 fcp-sr the only reason that's important is because it's the only other production rifle that uses the accurate mag system. However savage discontinued the ####ing thing, now I have a messed up polymer mag, and a regular one for the ruger scout that wont fit my savage and one as you say, totally butchered mag that kinda feeds reliably but not well enough to really use in any circumstance. Spent a #### ton of time trying to get the damn polymer mag to fit, and now have realized it ain't gonna... That being said... Anyone wanna buy one unused ruger scout polymer 5 rounder lol? I'm also gonna be looking at getting rid of my savage stock and bottom metal soon to get myself a cadex defense chassis and money towards an AR.

I wouldn't know as I don't have any .243's also saw a post today on facebook that MDT has made polymer mags for their chassis systems. That being said I would highly suggest waiting to see how they fit in anything other than their chassis. I don't have anything other than my savage so I couldn't tell how they fit in an actual AICS, but looking at the pic that they posted, the polymer mags look eerily similar to the ones that ruger makes for the gunsite scout.
