I snuck out to the range this morning before it started raining and shot these groups, my first 5 shot group at 200 was about 8" I didn't include it, also I had a 4" X5 shot group at 100 yards which also was not included,
and I fired standing at 200 X 5 shots, just 2 on paper, only one of which was just touching the black at 3 o'clock. . .
ammunition: .308 Winchester, Federal Powershock 180 grain soft point.
100 yards, benched, with a rear sandbag:
200 yards, benched, with a rear sandbag:
- I previously tried Winchester 150 grain power points, my rifle did not like them, the brass is sticky or grippy and does not want to feed from the magazine smoothly at all, my rifle liked the federal brass much better it was very smooth feeding with nary a hiccup. The only downside is that I ran out of ammunition, but it just started raining after that anyways. Hopefully with some practice, I'll be able to cut these group sizes in half.
