AIA 7.62x51 Magazine Markings!?

I don't know where some guys posting in this thread are getting their info but the AIA accepts the 5 round M14 mags just fine - all you have to do is mod the latch plate slightly. They fit perfectly and lock up tight.

Misread your post at first. Modifying them to fit is another story. I think people are saying they won't fit/work as they are, which was true when I tried it.

Ok. Thanks for the info guys. So final question; these are 100% for use in an M1A/M305 derivitive due to the legal due to the loop hole right??

The AIA mags are absolutely NOT for use in an M1A or M305 or ANY M14 variant. They are designed SPECIFICALLY for use in the AIA SMLE bolt action rifle, which allows them to hold a capacity of 10 x 7.62 NATO rounds.

The manufacturer of the AIA magazines never made any declaration stating that they were intended for use in the M14/M1A/M305.

To try and use a magazine designed for one rifle in a totally different rifle is done solely at the discretion and risk of the operator.

...now that's been cleared up, I have read that some people have tried their AIA magazines in their M305's and found the M305 operated properly.

Cheers!

That is the best explanation I have seen yet. Sums it up perfectly.
