AIA Enfields.

Did someone just cal .303BRIT obscure?

I will admit that the rimmed design is not the most practical, when compared to rimless cartridges (a la .308WIN), but... OBSCURE?

The round that has been in commonwealth issue for 100 years, and can be found at every Crappy Tire and Walmart from coast to coast is certainly not obscure!

Before I placed the order I checked up with a friend of mine who lives in Tasmania.
He said that those rifles are damn good and are very popular Down Under.
Now I'm awaiting one.

I suspect that rifle selection down under is a bit less varied - the AIAs probably do better in a market where they aren't being squeezed by the Norc M14S/M305s at one end and a plethora of American bolt actions and bubba'd .303's at the other, all under its price point. I'm sure it's a great rifle, but if you aren't looking for a Lee action and the heritage that entails or a 10 round mag, then the AIAs start hurting as a value proposition.

The Aussies don't make crap rifles, don't worry about it, you will outshoot a lot of "so called, expensive rifles" if you put a good scope on it. All you need worry about is a decent cheap supply of ammo. We have all kinds of crappy cheap commie stuff, but very little Nato milsurp around at a decent price.

I had one for over a year sports model, shoots realy good fast action. With a scope and cheep hunting ammo my groups are around 1 inch from rest at 100m. No mistake in buying one

Thanks Stevo! Wow that's a serious ejector plunger for sure. Nice beefy extractor and looks like some nice machining too. Note: this is not my father's Enfield...

I got me one of these. However, I replaced the scope for Bushnell DOA scope. This NcStar (the one in the pic that came with my B1) will be going on my Norc M305. I love this rifle but it is damn heavy. Hefty for a long stroll through the bushes, believe me.
