I have 2 savages, a 10fcp in 308 and a 12lrvp in 223. I have changed out the bottom metal to CDI bottom metal. The CDI bottom metal uses AICS magazines. When I went to the range to try it out the 10fcp in 308 fed awsome. The 12lrvp not so good. The AICS mags appear to be made to accomadate coal's of 2.600". I reload and my coal is 2.260", thus leaving around a quarter of an inch to spare in the magazine. After the first shot the recoil sends all of the remaining cartridges to the back of the magazine wich is under the bolt head and therefore unable to pick up the next round. Anyone else have problem with the new AICS 223 magazines? Any suggestions to fix the magazines?
