AICS mags in the TRG-22??

I recently read on one of the US forums that someone claims to be using AICS 10rd mags in their TRG-22 as a cost effective alternative to the Sako product.

Can anyone confirm if this is possible and if so, where are AICS mags available in Canada?

Wolverine supplies sells both the TRG-22 and AICS mags. That would be a good place to inquire.

I have a TRG 22 and a custom Remington with ATRS bottom metal. The AICS 10 rd mag does not work. Plus the Sako 10 rd mag fits flush with the stock. I bought an extra 10 rd mag for my trg, it works outstanding and this is the smoothest feeding rifle I have ever fired. For the amount I spent for the rifle, factory bipod, near base, nf scope, tps rings, considering this I did not see an issue paying for the mag. U start trying to use something in a rifle it wasn't designed for to save money and u are going to have issues with regards to feeding etc. Not worth it in my opinion.

To use AI mags you would need to modify the mag somewhat. A new mag catch cut, the AI one hammered flat, the back of the mag also needs to be cut down so it can seat and not bind on the bolt. Just buy a TRG mag, less hassle and smoother feeding.

Thanks guys, I agree that it sounds like a waste of time to bother with it. I though they may have been a no mod fit.
