AICS Magwell for Ruger American Predator? Help needed

Hey,

Was told by ruger that my RAP is "too old" to change the magwell to take AICS mags. I don't foresee the 4rd flush mag lasting the life of this rifle with how it's made. Also stupid annoying trying to get 5rd groups out of it currently.

I have a 3D printer and identical moss green filament. I don't see any reason why I can't make my own magwell for this rifle, as I already did for my BRNO Mo3 rebuild.

If anyone has either the magwell from ruger, or an AICS magazine laying around I would love to get some dimensions. I'm sure the magazine blueprints may be available somewhere online? I think this would be a fun project to figure out.

Not sure if you are looking to go this route, but I have a spare RAP stock that takes the AICS mags. I took it off my RAP 6.5 CM to put a Magpul stock on it. If this is something you'd be interested in, make me an offer and perhaps we can get a deal done.

I found this AICS model and printed it while I slept. Just need to find a local source of spring steel... I'm not perfectly happy with this design, but it's a great starting point for experimenting.



I may just end up designing a 5-inline magazine that has the same profile as the stock flush mount magazine. At the moment, seems easier than designing a magwell from scratch with the release knob, and perfectly matching the contour to the rest of the stock.
 
It may actaually be easier to make a mag that fits the native magwell!
