Well headed out to the range with my Benelli M4 with a Aimpoint . Getting ready for the up coming controlled hunt. Well the first couple of rds were pretty dam close to center. I roughly lined up the dot with the front post, and a bit high. OK I'm pretty happy. I started out with some "cheapee"(all three shots were touching at 50yrds?) slugs to get it on the paper, so far so good. Anyway after putting a few of the hunting rds down range , the shots were all over the place. Ok check the rings, base etc, tighten everything up. After getting the elevation close, the windage is still way off to the rgt? (I lined up the windage with the front post again). Anyway these things seem to be a pain in the ass to set up. I have done lots of scopes at further ranges, and been on in a few rds. Any thoughts or opinions, I know next time a short dot or EoTech!

Well I picked up the single ring, I believe it comes with the unit? I really wanted to go with a LaRue mount like on my M4 but I thought for a weeks hunting the ring would serve the purpose.Mine is similar, but for a 30mm tube, with 2 screws on the top.

From that ring, it looks like you would need to first tighten the base screw to make sure it's tight on the rail, and then tighten the upper screw to secure the scope. I don't like that setup because of my above observation, get an ARMS#22M68 or other good system. I suspect the mount is shifting on the rail.

I agree I wasn't too thrilled when I set up the scope on the ring. I thought that I would give it a try. I do have a set of hvy duty, 30mm rings for a regular scope, I believe they are Badger.Would a single ring be good enough for the Aimpoint? Anyon use the GG&G Aimpoint mount with the accu-cam.

Aimpoint

Well after some thought it occurs that maybe the Aimpoint ring is for a "Weaver" rail? So I might as well get it right So the winner is

Those look like the bushnell rings that you can buy at Wholesale for under $20. I've seen scopes slip with those under heavy recoil many times. Buy better rings.
