Hey, I was thinking about getting one of these replica Aimpoints but I'm not sure about the quality, durability, and dependability of them. Has anyone ever owned or used one of these replica of a Aimpoint 1X30mm RDS with quick release arms style mount?

This page has a bunch of cool stuff for sale including SureFire style laser sights, and other stuff.

Can anyone tell me some facts about these Aimpoint replicas?

Thanks.

Just got mine in the mail yesterday... cheap but I paid cheap to. Mostly I wanted it to experiment with but without buying a full on aimpoint and mounts. I might try it on my M4 for the hell of it.

####!!!!buy a real one..or even a Tasco would be better....

I have one that has lasted 500 rounds of 7.62 and 200 of 5.56.

I don't use it for competition though some have, it is my range toy. The glue holding the on/off switch lets go affecting the brightness and on/off.

If you want it for looks and plinking then get it. If you want a dedicated sight or for competition then get the real thing.

I got mine from the member on this board-jackiecxid or something like that and mine is mounted on my 870 with about 500 slugs through it. It has stood up great except I had to locktite the base(no surprise)

I have one that's less than a month old. Paid $ 69 it's yours for $40.

I bought mine from jackiscxyd (sp?) on our board too. I'm happy as hell since I'm shooting it on top of the 14.5" bbled carbine flat top upper.

My only regret is (done this TWICE) forgetting to turn off the unit and then I drain the batteries at $ 3.75 apiece. OOoops.....

I've kicked butt with this combination at a couple of Tac-Carbine matches already and I'm just stoked. Recce, on this board told me about his unit surviving the recoil of an M14, so I thought that the .223 recoil should hold up quite well.

I'm super pleased with mine, especially for the price. Heck, I'm too old to deploy to Asskrakistan so this works for my purposes. Yeeeeha !

I also bought one from jackiscxyd on our board. Got it on my M4 and it has worked great. It even holds zero;) . For $90.00, it was great value. Not sure I would have the same attitude trudging through the jungle or where my life depended on it, but it doesn't. AR15.com has a lengthy thread on this particular product. No, I'm not referring to the Tacpoint unit but theres a good speal on that unit as well.
