Aimpoint PRO on an SR22?

I purchased an Aimpoint PRO about 1 year ago. Mounted it on a mini-14. It's a great sight system out to about 100 yards but not the greatest once you start pushing 200. At least not without magnification so I ended up purchasing a scope for the mini-14 and now have this PRO sight with not much to put it on? I was thinking of dropping it on my stepsons Ruger SR22 for him as the Aimpoint red dot aka "laser sight" (15 year old terminology) is really cool! Now we shoot gophers together and currently his SR22 is wearing a Redfield Battlezone Tac-22 2-7x32 scope which works very, very well out to 100-110 yards. I am wondering what the red dot would be like on a 22? I had no issues smoking gophers with it at 100+ yards with the mini-14.
