Aimpoint PRO

I have one on my AR, I quite like it.

There's usually a few listed on the EE, or I got mine from Tactical Products.

Is the glass and dot much better than entry level RDS with the PRO? Comparing with Bushnell TRS-25, Vortex Strikefire/Sparc? And are the pricier units a step up in that department or is the price increase for other reasons?

You're paying for some added durability and battery life. On a proper unit continuous battery life should be measured in years and not months or hours.

Granted, that's not a massive problem if the only harm it faces is a stray casing bouncing off it.

Plus it gives you at least six Bro Points.

We've done demos where we take the Aimpoints off the rifle, throw it at a brick wall or on the ground and put it back on the rifle and shoot the same hole.

Also with the Aimpoint you change the battery every US election ;)

I also like the easy on-off mount that comes with a Pro- snap on, twist the knob twice. But don't tell the guy selling it that I said so.

I know im kinda bringing up an old thread but if some of you are still interested in the pro, the cheapest retailer
I can find is TSE, i would rather pay $60 bucks more for a new one than trust one off the EE, lets be honest who knows where some of them have really been.

Mine has spent time on an ar, .22, .308, 12ga, 7.62x39 works great. Not a range toy at all, mines been in the field. It's been through pouring rain, -25, heat, bouncing in my tractor and atv. Fell off my atv while driving once. Holds zero always, works always, I could only see myself trading it on maybe a t2 just for weight savings and smaller footprint. For the extra money over a cheaper option you won't be disappointed. Did I mention it's 3 years old and still on the original battery?

Its nice to see someone with some real world action.

I have the Pro on a Sig RM400. Only managed to get through a few mags with it before the deep freeze set in but, as others have mentioned, it is quality. Bang on right out of the box, easy on and easy off and holds zero. And it looks very cool.
