Air charter company Dease Lake BC

NT Air flies into the strip outside Dease Lake and there's at least one more that flies into that strip.

Oops, I don't think the OP meant an aircraft operating on wheels was what he wanted to get to remote moose country!
 
Ok, there's a float charter company that operates out of Tatogga Lake, contact Teena at Tatogga Lodge and she could pass on the info.
 
There is also the outfit that took over BC-Yukon Air. They still operate out of the same float base on Dease Lake.
 
Call Keith Connors at Ootsa Air, he runs a float plane (Beaver) out of town and is a great pilot. I've flown with him a few times now.
 
Another vote for Connors. He is very experienced and professional. He flew us last year. A nice surprise was that although he made a small accounting error with PST that resulted in over billing us for the flight, we never knew there was any error but a few weeks later he discovered it and sent a refund on his own initiative. A good guy for sure.

Since Keith Connors name has come prominently on this thread, I just have to tell a story he told me. It was either last year, or the year before, a family was guiding up north at their camp and had the family cat with them. When it was time to pull out in the fall the cat couldn't be found, so very reluctantly they had to pull out for the winter without her.
A few days later Keith Connors was flying in the area and was forced to land because of bad weather so he landed at the guide camp where they had pulled out and left the cat. With modern communication being what it is, Keith contacted the owners of the guide camp and said since he was going to have to wait out the weather with the cat, they better tell him what the cat's name is!
Of course when he left he took the cat, but he was just going to Prince George and the cats owners were out around Terrace. He didn't give me the details, but he said the final journey for the cat home was a story in itself. But the cat eventually got home.

Yeah these guys that have been around for a long time sure do have some fine stories. I wonder if the new up-and-comers will have the same kinds of adventures. I was fortunate enough to learn to fly floats with Dave Hamel, God rest his soul, in a Supercub and man was it ever a fun time. Flying along the upper Fraser at tree-top level in that basic little aircraft is one of my fondest memories. Also, is there any sound that compares to the cold start of a DHC-2 on a cold, crisp morning? You know, the big radial catches and is sputtering along at ~450rpm for a brief time until it moves up to idle. I love it!
 
Harbour Air used to fly out of Tatogga lake with a Beaver. I used them way back in 1993. Anyone know if they still run an airbase from there?.

When we flew out of there last year there was a private Beaver on the lake but Alpine's 206 was the only charter plane.
 
I stayed there from May until last week, I should know, but don't lol. I do know that it was a busy spot in sheep season, lots of vehicles parked there while guys were on their hunt.
