Can any of you suggest a good quality compact/slim/trim break action air rifle? I was thinking about a Henry Mini or similar .22lr but on further reflection an air rifle may be a better way to start. The thing is that I don't want to buy a piece of junk and it needs to be very compact ~11.5" length of pull plus a fairly short barrel.

Thanks in advance.

Baikal izh-61, (now called the MP-61 I think). It's a spring rifle with a good trigger, and a stock adustable for LOP. It's light, accurate, and is a repeater to boot! Kids like it's looks, and adults like the fact that the thing is really accurate. Airgun plus and D&L can get them. Only down side is that you need a good one piece rail if you want to scope it. Apart from that it's great. By the way, it's not a break-barrel, it's a side ####.

I'd suggest a Daisy 853, or it's less-expensive brother, the 953. I have an 853 I bought VERY used, and it's extremely accurate..easy for the kids to operate too.
