That's avery interesting hobby. Real vs fake guns on these? Given that FA firearms are subject to federal licensing I'd suppose that virtually all warbird restorations are fitted with demilled or fake MGs.

The phrase "crumpled ball of rusty metal" is one he's used a few times before. He sure used it enough here.
As for being creeped out by real guns, buddy's an individual, like you and me. I don't expect everyone to be comfortable around guns. I am. You are. But many aren't. Is this brainwashing? In many cases, sure, but in a lot of cases, it's a matter of unfamiliarity. Buddy's thing is not guns. Buddy's thing is turrets, a device specifically designed to assist in the destruction of enemy material and personnel. Many would find that creepy, like collecting and restoring electric chairs. I don't.
We all have our preferences and irrational phobias. Buddy's restoring interesting mechanical things. He isn't actively working against your ownership of firearms. He just has a silly fear of firearms. Cut the guy some slack, why doncha?
Now this is the difference between real restorers who are not freaked out about "guns" and fakes.
Dan - I respectfully disagree. No firearms = no turrets. These things were invented expressly to point guns at things. That's like saying "I collect 1911 pistol grips, but the pistols themselves creep me out. I don't support owning 1911's."
The bottom line is that nobody expects this maroon to go out and get a whack job of Class III M1919's, but he could use dewats - or he can use replicas like he did, but leave the anti-gun PC BS out of his vids.
If the guns creep him out so much, why not use broomsticks? I'll tell you why. Because broomsticks would look ridiculous and he wouldn't bother restoring these items that were made specifically to MOUNT GUNS.

Nifty video. I have a K-14 gunsight from a P-51. It has an inventory tag from 403 Sqn which operated Mustangs from Calgary in the late 40s/early 50s.Now this is the difference between real restorers who are not freaked out about "guns" and fakes.
