THe newest version of the AEK-971, on the other hand, would be worth a try.

That would do, in 7.62x39mm, I'd drop a grand on that. A sort of recoilless Heckler und Kalashnikov. For double tapping charging bears and so on.

You would have a gas cylinder extension that moves a mass to change the center of gravity so that the muzzle stays level. That might add a pound or two to the gun, so it might not be for everyone. If you designed the gun from scratch, you could probably keep the weight down.
A full auto closed bolt smg with no muzzle lift would be a delight, yes.
We had the AR-15 black rifle, then bullpup black rifles, not much new since then. Would you rather have a bullpup or no recoil? Interesting question. The US had the whole Project Salvo to increase hit probability, looks like the Commies were sitting on a plausible answer all along.
