Hi there fellow CGNers

I bought a chinese SKS barreled action from Marstar a little while ago. I decided to finally build the rifle as a lockdown/pandemic hobby this winter.

SKS parts are fairly easy to find in Canada.

Well most of them…

The part that bugs me the most is the gas tube locking lever. Yes, that small lever holding the gas tube in place. They seem imposible to find and it makes sense since it also seems to be heck of a trouble to take them off the rear sight block.

I came up with the idea of using an AK gas locking lever after reading online that dimensions of both levers are very similar.

They do look alike and seem to be similar but Its been way too long since I got my hands on an AK-47 and I am in no way as familiar with the AK than I am with the SKS.

Any of you old veteran CGNers out there could help me out ? Do you think I could use an AK-47 Gas Tube locking lever to replace a SKS gas tube locking lever ?

Marstar has lots of AKs and AK parts. Ask them.
