AK .556 Magazines / Valmet

Cleaning out the gun room found some magazines... look to be .556.

Probably from a valmet I had back in the day.

Any idea on value?

I'm seeing 500 US on some sites but that's just crazy talk.

Not that crazy, those are scarce like hen's teeth - can't remember the last time I saw 556 Valmet mags for sale.

galil mags are cheap and take 30 seconds of tweaking to work in Valmets

I saw this tested on In Range and it was determined that although they sort of work they weren’t very reliable. Think it was Ian who was running a Valmet and had feeding malfunctions.

Perhaps your mileage may vary.

I have 20+ Galil mags and run them out at my local 2gun, I had acouple hickups at first but once you get them right theyre unironically fine if not better than factory Valmet mags
Didnt hurt that I bought them for 5USD a pop back in 2019

Yeah at that price screw it. I paid highway robbery money just for 5.56 AK mags….

I only ever competed with my FAMAE and those mags are fine. Canada Ammo apparently sold their entire stock to a European buyer…good luck to the new bag hold- I mean owners from the new import run.
