Ak fsb on sks

Good day, probably been asked before but can a Ak-47 front sight block fit on a cut down sks barrel?

Hical sells a "Trueshot front sight adapter." This fits over the sks barrel perfectly and gives the look of an AK sight. It also has threads on the end for mounting a muzzle brake.

Since the outside diameter of the barrel of both rifles is the same (14 mm) then an AK Fsb ought to fit on an SKS, however, the AK's sight plane is higher above the bore than an SKS, and I am not sure whether the rear sight elevation would be compatible

Yup and it looks like it's 2 pieces.

Nope, it is actually one piece. It is good option if you are wanting to put threads on the end of the rifle for muzzle brakes. You have to factor in the cost to ship the rifle, cut and crown the barrel, have the threads machined, and have it shipped back. Plus you will want to put on some kind of front sight and have it mounted. By using the sight adapter you have a built in front sight and is pre-threaded. If you can cut and crown yourself you end up ahead of the game. The adapter will cover up any imperfections there may be from the cutting. Shipping the adapter should be $14 but shipping the firearm will likely be $30 each way. For some this is a good option.
