AK mags

Just so you know the $75 mags that we have for the DM SKS are moving very fast and we have been out of stock for quite some time. Boy if you can find these in Canada for $35 buy them now because if we see them ,we will buy them all at this price. Like every thing else in this business it's supply and demand and right now the demand is high and supply is low. We get calls every week for these mags and can't get enough. Still have a couple of fixed mag conversions 30/5 for the same price,

Contrary to popular belief, "Supply and Demand" isn't the direct cause of high prices, although in a way it's related. A profit can still be had at lower cost as demand does not drive the production costs, demand drives the retail costs, or rather greed does in a high demand situation.

The US they sometimes have deals, 30$ for 10 mags.

Supply and demand?

Marstar imports AK47 machineguns from yugoslavia, and chops them up to sell them for maybe 200$ to the dealer. They are the sole importer for yugoslavia, you think they could get cheap mags?

Supply and demand. Dealers keep supply low, so they can keep demand high to warrant there high prices. Why sell 10 mags for 10$ profit when you can sell 10 mags for 30$ profit each?

They got kids to feed, cars to buy, I know, but so do alot of shooters.

and canadian dealers wonder why canadian gun owners order stuff from the U.S AK mags there can be had for $10.00 or less I had a FFL who pinned them for $3.00 each (i sent him a jig and a wack of drill bits) so $13. U.S per mag lets add another $10. PER mag for customs shipping thats now $23.U.S per mag so lets say $30. Canadian per mag canadian dealers want $75.00 each? $45.00 profit per mag

since the export bans i have not ordered mags and i am not selling any

Like I said if someone can sell these mags for $35 each please we will buy them. This is exactly what supply and demand is. If there were thousands of mags floating around Canada like the USA they would be $10 or $20 each because everybody has them and there is no real demand since you can find them almost anywhere. Since the US export regulations restrict the export and Canada Customs interprets each importation differently and at their whim these and similar products are almost impossible to get...thus the value or at least what people are prepared to pay goes way up. If a dealer is asking too much then they won't sell and he will be stuck with a bunch of overpriced stuff. He didn't cause this situation but did react to it and try to make whatever profit the market will bear. If someone wants to coner this market it is wide open but as soon as the current demand has been filled you won't be able to give them away at any price and hence the risk that goes with buying and selling for profit.
