Yes, but my SKS-D is actually slower to reload than my Yugo from stripper clips, due to no last shot hold open, and the fact fumbling with mags is slower than stripper clips. Plus, stripper clips are a zillion times easier to carry around than AK mags.
There. Everything about the SKS vs. SKS-D debate you didn't need to know.
...and my inevitable retort, for the law abiding firearms owner, this is currently a non-issue. Should we become lucky with mag cap laws in the future, then it's a valid argument
The mag well will need to be opened up to accept the drum. I just tried with mine and the drum body hits the magwell sides and prevents the feed tower from engaging the front hook and rear mag catch. roughly 5/8 inch away.
oh hell, is that right? I have lots of norinco and polytech stuff from before the import ban. I even have a full color glossy Norinco catalog that my folks picked up from the factory.
Yeah, it's just that no new ones are allowed in post ban. Lotsa M305's, 1911's, etc stateside, but they command a higher price due to the greater scarcity. Ours are only so cheap as the US destined production became diverted to us.
