AK parts kits

Parts are parts.
No receiver, no firearm.
But what are you going to do with a set of parts? You cannot assemble any AK variant.
Forget about getting one of the many parts kits being sold in the US.
About the only source for a parts kit in this country is a scrapped AK.

I want to use some of parts on a CZ858/ VZ58 and because some part kits come with mags, furniture, under folder etc... it is cheaper than buying seperate for the CZ858. After seeing what curtton was able to do to his CZ858`s just gave me an idea to start my own AK clone.

There have deen a couple of deactivated AK's for sale, which you could take apart for the furniture, gas block, etc.,

Last time I checked (a couple years ago), there seemed to be a fight within customs as to weather or not they should allow "prohibited" firearms parts into Kanada or not. The guns themselves are obviously illegal, but the argument was that since prohib pistol (and at the time rifle) owners were still being allowed to shoot them, they should be allowed to bring in spare parts.

Since then, you can forget about getting them from the US due to their own export laws, etc., Although people have had AK furniture items/minor parts sent from other parts of the world.

I just thought.....doing an AK clone from a detachable-mag model SKS might be a better idea. At least the mags'll be the same!

Sadly I'm only 22 and have never had the opportunity to fire a kalashnikov of any model.

I did own a 858 but a totaly different firearm really. I know that they are not the most ergonomically correct, accurate or powerful firearms but they do they're intended job and quite well.

Plus in all honestly, I think Ak's are the most visually appealing too me out of any other firearm.

Just always been a fan of them, and some day somehow I will own one.

I do have family in Texas, so Fingers crossed somehow.

Anyway as for currently, another yugo or russian sks will have to do the trick.
