a friend of mine showed me an ak 22 (22lr semi that looks like an AK) at his place the other day i thought they were taboo until i seen the registration "unrestrictied" certifigate..... are they taboo and just an oversite by the CFC?

As far as I know the AK22 is still banned,, but the M16 model .22 is unrestricted. Make sense,, No..But, "We are from the government, and we're here to help you,," F*$K OFF!!!

unless it suits them

I bought and tried to import an akt-98 from the usa last year. I got an IIC certificate but couldn't register it as rcmp made it prohibited. My friend in PA has it now

I do believe it is restricted... but nonetheless....

What the hell does a blowback semi auto .22 repeater have thats so AK like, while a CZ/VZ gas operated 7.62x39 doesn't??

The Armi Jager is restricted. The Squires is unrestricted. Incidentally the Jager is the closer resembling to the AR family.
