Anyone know where to purchase an AK47 drum mag (pinned to 5 of course)? It’s for my type 81 and I know I’ll have to mill it a bit to make it fit and function. I’m only after a full metal drum, not interested in the half plastic units. I haven’t seen a designated type 81 drum so AK is my only option I think, unless someone has a better idea.
Thanks

Why do that when IRG sells Romanian drum mags that work WITHOUT any modding?!?!?!?

I had a look on their site and they list 2, but both are AK47. Also they say nothing about being pinned to 5 rounds. How would they pass these trough customs? Btw I don’t mind milling them as I want to fabricate the last round bolt hold open feature to it.

The mags from Irunguns are pinned. I got mine a couple weeks ago (ordered in late July). Fit was perfect.

Ok good to know. Wow! Why does it take so long? Was trying to get a few as gifts for Xmas, but I guess that ain’t happening haha

Ok I found it. MAG-6700 for $124.89. I’ll have to get a hold of someone there to find out about shipping time. Says in stock so that’s promising.
Does anyone know how they pin them? Ive seen some drums with some shady workmanship haha, not saying that’s the case here.

These are newly manufactured and pinned. If they are on the canadian sight IN STOCK I assume it would ship within the next business day or so and probably take a week to where you are located in the country

I ordered one from them a while back and it did requires some minor fitting (I posted pics in their dealer thread) to work in my Type 81. I'm just curious if other people are still running into fitment issues or if these newer batches are better. Maybe it was just my Type 81.

I think the delay is because Irunguns only makes a shipment to Canada once a month (middle of the month?). I ordered just after mid-month so that put a month extra on my order. Also, there is some sort of approval that Irunguns gets from some US Goverment department before they can export.

With a little luck, if you order before mid October you should have before Xmas.

The mag I have looks very well built. Too bad it is pinned at 5.......

Awesome! I’ll give them a call and see what they say, but makes sense with the time factor.
Thanks for the info. I wish there was a simple law for the 5 pin thing. All it would take is for us to have them held at a range or rcmp station and we would simply go there, sign out our drums for a few hours and return them after use. This simple procedure would keep everyone feeling safe and we could all have more fun at the range. I don’t see any of this happening so it is what it is. Still looks badass on the rifle.
