Hello everyone. I know the Akdas Alcor is chambered for .223. Has there been any posts/trials in regards to using the Akdas Alcor with the 5.56 round?

I think they actually put out a notice not to run NATO rounds through them, might have been the importer, but I think it was posted on here somewhere if you do a search.

I emailed the company and received this. Doesn't really confirm or deny anything. So take it as you will. Hope this helps somewhat.

When the rifle is the correct factory chambering?

It sounds like they are saying, if the rifle you own is stamped 556 Nato, then you can use the 556 ammo. Otherwise if it's barrel stamped with 223 Remington, then one needs to use 223 Rem only?

Can someone else decipher this response from the company....:)

Based on available information, you should not shoot 5.56 NATO ammunition in an Akdaş Alcor. The Akdaş Alcor is specifically chambered in .223 Remington, not 5.56 NATO.

My understanding is 5.56 NATO is higher pressure than .223 REM, so barrel stamped .223 “cant” tolerate the pressure of 5.56. Barrel stamped 5.56 NATO can tolerate both 5.56 NATO and .223 REM.

Very interestingly, there is a CHAMBERING called .223 Wylde, which has a better fit to cartridges and can take both 5.56 NATO and .223 REM safely and with high performance. This chambering can be found in the MRA Renegade.
