After waiting 9 years for a doe draw finally my the boys out for a protein tour.i l let the youngest shoot his first as he never had shot one before [Win 70 7 mag 130gr Speer handload]and within split seconds doe #2 dropped[ 6.5x55 140gr Partition handload] then I slid behind the son's 7 mag and relaxed contestant #3.......all in less than 10 seconds at 225 yards 2 hrs into opening day.Had an adult doe lined up and about to plant her when another got in the way so I took a smaller one off to the side.Zero meat damage.....next cow moose ,mulies and WT Lord willing....Harold

That's ridiculous, but guess if you're bound and determined. Sad that it's come to this. Nothing better to eat than Antelope.

Some zones are 12 years for bucks............oldest son shot his buck 2 years ago and it was 11 years to draw a tag..........there were 5 tags for our zone /season and we had 3 of them. They are fun to hunt and I enjoy the time with family.if you can afford it,and don't like waiting, better to pay for a access/hunt on a ranch in Wyoming and see hundreds of antelope a day...it is what it is in AB...Harold
 
Saw several nice bucks prior....... but of course ............had antlerless tags..........Lots of nice bull elk on the bald a$$ed prairie too...........also on draw basis..........still a lot of game in seemingly nothingness.....Harold

nice shootin Tex, i did note how bare it looks out there on the prairie! different kind of huntin that's for sure!

I need to re sight the 7 mag from 130 Speer to the 160gr Accubonds for the larger game.............the latter will do a meter of moose re: penetration and retain about 70% of their original weight. I personally don't like the second /late antelope season as a snow storm or weather front can drive the antelope right out of your allotted zone. Decent glass for spotting is a must and cover animals can vanish into can be as simple as a dip or patch of buckbrush. For those of you that have never hunted antelope,it's funny to see an animal that can run 60 mph slide at full speed under a barbed wire fence rather than jump it.They are small but tasty..........Harold
 
Never looked into it but I guess Wyoming has no requirement to hire a guide and there is 100% draw for non-resident hunters/June deadline along with public land.Private ranches are open to hunters with a modest access fee and quality sized animals.Some guys get tired of a 10 year or more wait on licenses here in AB and just go south. Harold
