Alberta Elk license question

Quick question

I have an AB "Resident Antlerless Elk Special Licence" for the year 2024 (license code 773) for WMU 353. The season indicated is Nov. 1 to Dec. 20, but the license is still showing as active in my RELM account.

Does this mean I can still use this license for some reason, or does it mean that I haven't seen to some formality?

Please help me, CGN hivemind.

OK. I just got off the phone with Alberta RELM. I'm sorry if this is obvious to most of you out there, but it may stop someone else from scratching their head.

The license remains "active" while there is still an undersubscribed elk hunting season ongoing in the WMU in question (here: 353, and February when the final undersubscribed elk season ends). However, my chosen season was 11/1 to 12/20, so it's well and truly done for me.

To bad it wasn't renewable with a fee for the current season if the are available and we're not sold out.
