Alberta F&W Needs Your Help!

Let's not get ridiculous here. :) It's an accepted enforcement tool , but you'd think somebody would see something, given the number of incidents.

Grizz

I know that area a bit and the only people out in there at night are going to be tired and pissed off oilfield workers, thieves and the jack lighters.

If the thieves and jack lighters are the same people they got it down to an art. No joke they will steal equipment that is running. That's engines running pump jacks/compressors,, pipe fittings/meters with sour gas running through them,, electric cable that is powered up... its bad.

However! Last thing we need is a fake deer on every corner trying to trick regular guys into taking a shot then get them on some technicality like being 2 feet to close to the road or 30seconds past legal shooting according to the CO's watch. The nanny state is already out of control as it is.

A law abiding hunter wouldn't show up at night without a license and tag and shoot a decoy. Getting caught breaking the law is a direct result of breaking the law. Don't break the law and decoy deer shouldn't be a problem. Someone should go hunting poachers. That would be fun.

I sure hope they spend the dollars on investigating this.
Pull the bullets out of the carcasses and do a ballistics on them.
Card and file each animal shot and if and when they catch these
cork soakers, get a search warrant and seize all their firearms.
Match bullets found to firearm and lay the maximum charge to these
poachers on each and every animal.
Throw the book at them.
Set a frick'n example to the tards.

Like I said I am beginning to come around on the idea after seeing how bad the poaching is getting around here. Seems like it is the only way to catch the true poachers hunting at night. These guys never seem to get caught at night and that's why they do it.

Sounds to me like the Alberta (and yes BC) Conservation officers need to work at night. That's how it's done in the USA. Their COs even get night vision equipment.
