Hello all,

Looking for someone who is familiar with Tikka M695. I have a Broken stalk (well, its intact but has a big crack in it) and I've purchased a Boyd's stalk that doesn't totally fit. I'd also like to get the barrel touched up since is old and has been worked pretty hard. I need to send it out via mail since I'm in a remote location. Any good people you would recommend.

Im up in Grande Prairie and closest up here is in Dawson Creek its an hour away just past the BC border at Corlanes they have done a bunch of stuff for me always A+

If your more down south Alberta Tactical does lots of rifle stuff, Black box customs does excellent work as well

Our gunsmith does some pretty nice wood work and should be able to help you with the stock. We also do both Cerakote and bluing in house.

Corlanes told me that "If I wanted a good bedding job I should have purchased a better stock."

My best friend investigated years later why a rechambered rifle by Corlanes wouldn't shoot like it did before (Sendero 300 Win) and discovered that they just ran the reamer in a bit and cut the tenon short to adjust the headspace. The tenon was only about 7/16th in length. The "new" match chambered had .015" runout.

In 1995 they blue printed a Rem 700 action of mine, rechambered the factory 22-250 barrel to 22-250 AI, bushed the bolt and spun on a muzzle brake. Best shooting rifle I had at the time. Those "Top Drawer" days are long gone.

Unfortunately I have seen some issues with them as well.

I took a ruger M77 to them to have a shilen barrel intalled, fluted and powder coated.

I gave them a detailed list of what I wanted, right down to the custom throat length I desired.

When I got the gun back, the chamber was cut to a standard throat, and they broke my trigger guard!

They even teflon coated the action, which I didn't want! I love the old dark glossy blueing! It was gorgeous!

It has been two years later, no trigger guard replaced yet. I guess I will need to remind them that they need to replace it and source it how ever they need. But I am going to get one from them.

I think they may be having staffing retention issues. If they keep rehiring, they need to continually retrain workers and that can cause some of those issues.

Hopefully they can turn it around! I like the store and the guys there.
