Recently returned from our annual early season hunt.
One of our guys shot a bull moose and was going to tag it. He realized that the side where the vendor writes the information was all rubbed off, including some of the black tag ink. He was fortunate the other side where the number is was intact. He had it folded in his coat pocket. Also, the metal tags are smaller and flimsier than last year.
He took pics of same and will submit it to different agencies, and of course, self protection should he get checked...which he did not this time.
This is forwarded for your information fellow hunters. Make sure you baby these very cheap tags when handled.
Alberta should go back to a sturdy metal tag similar to what they use to give.
