Hey,

I have an oportunity to hunt doe muly, late November in Medecin Hat area. Never been there, never hunted that!

If you were me, would you choose last or second last week of November?

Am I right to expect a spot and stalke hunt? What is the best technique for this animal at this time of the year?

Any input would be appreciate.

Muley does are not usually a difficult hunt. They tend to be less wary than are Whitetail.

Since the rut will be in progress, animals should be moving anytime in the day, with prime
in the early morning and late afternoon. Spot and stalk should work fine.

Good Luck on your hunt. Dave.

A deer stopper works great as the approach cover they usually freeze for one last look.......be ready.Should be like shooting fish in a barrel.

Be very careful your doe isn't a 4" spike ..........them big 9" ears and willows can hide an antler.Have fun.A set of shooting sticks or a bi-pod is a bonus.

Bring a hoodie or bunny hug..lol
Shoot in the wind a bit also will help out.. chances of having a calm day are slim to nilllllll..
Some rope would be a good idea, ravines and gullies attract fleeing mulies.. or some game bags.
Fun times filler the freezer

I drew antlerless mulie for 256. Sunday I scouted the land I received permission to hunt and saw 4 mulies and 3 whitetails. Beauty of a spot, 1/4 section with half in crop and the other half real gnarly bush along a 100 yard wide deep ravine with a creek running through the bottom. I'll have tags in my pocket for both this weekend.

Prairie mule deer does are about as easy as it gets in terms of big game hunting. Focus on any pasture with lots of brush or willows or a coulee/river bottom. Trophy bucks are a different game but does should be a 100% sucess rate in eastern Alberta and Sask.
